I don't bother with Alt-PrtScrn because it doesn't work right for dialog boxes. Here is my drill. Firstly, keep Irfanview loaded but minimized or behind your active window. Hit PrtScrn, Alt-tab to Irfanview, Ctl-V to paste, drag mouse to select area you want to save, Ctl-Y to crop, Ctl-S to save. Done... I have to do this frequently at my job.
