MindMeister

Grigor at Behind the Glasses beat me to the punch, but I’ve got 20 invites up for the taking to the private beta of MindMeister. He’s got the added idea of starting right out on the collaboration aspect of MindMeister.

With the limited time I’ve spent on MindMeister so far it is a very nice mind mapping application. FreeMind is good, but it’s got it’s own quirks. MindManager is really nice, but it comes with a wallet thinning price tag. For the monthly cost of a single trip to Starbucks MindMeister gives you anywhere-in-the-world access to a very promising mind mapping application that allows for real-time collaboration and brainstorming.

I made the comment to Bren that MindMeister would fit nicely in with the recently announced Google Apps Premier Edition. Even without a presentation title, the combination of GMail, GCal, Docs, Spreadsheets, and MindMeister would be a very powerful office application suite. Hmmm (stares off to nowhere dreaming of the potential).

Let me know in the comments if you want an invite.

  13. Hi

I’ve tried several mind mapping software but most of them (like Visio) seems to be too bloaty for my purpose. MindMiester seems to be pretty good online software that I’d like to test.

Would you mind to send me an invite (if you have some left)?

    Thanks in advance

  16. Hi there,

Just to let you know that MindMeister ended the private beta test and went live with the official version last night - no invitations necessary anymore ;-)

We’ve also added a couple of new features and revised the UI, hopefully for the better!

    Best regards
    Michael

  17. Hi all,

Our team has developed a new mind mapping software which might be worth checking out. Its a collaborative wed-based mind mapping tool with an added twist. Worth checking out at http://www.comapping,com

    best regards,

    Omar

  18. I just checked out comapping - it is by far the best mindmapping-tool on the net - great simple functions and really drives towards building new information sharing societies -

    Big ups to commaping!!!

You must be one of the founders ;-)
I just checked out Comapping too, it seems pretty similar to Mindomo (Flash, same Vista style ribbon toolbar, …) but it crashed on me in collab mode. They’ve also taken a leaf or two out of the MindMeister book, e.g. the share dialog…

    Cheers
    Nick

  20. Yes, we are actually a group of founders.

We know about Mindomo and Mindmeister, and they are both excellent tools. Both work with the central topic in the center, while we choose to go from left to right. Our testing shows that most find this easier to understand, but try yourself and see what you like.

The share dialog is actually inspired by Writely, pioneers of collaborative web-based tools.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

    Best regards
    Omar
